In 1996, at the invitation of the Principal of Saint John the Baptist Catholic School (hereinafter referred to as SJBCS), nine members composed of parents, parishioners, and alumni dedicated themselves to serve on the School Board of SJBCS, as consultants to the Pastor and Principal.
The Mission of the Saint John the Catholic School Board is to:
- Voluntarily assist in the Catholic education of students attending SJBCS.
- Promote and reinforce a faith/school community where parents, the Pastor and Pastoral Assistants, Aministrators, Faculty and Staff, and the School Board work together to nurture the holistic growth of each student-spiritually, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically.
- Encourage exemplar witness to the teachings and life of Christ.
- Provide parents/guardians with training to assist their children's spritual and educational journey. Parents/guardians are the primary educators of their children.
- Promote and encourage staff development. The faculty/staff are the facilitators of learning for our students.
- Continually support the school community and will guard its Mission Statement and Philosophy of SJBCS.
The SJBCS Board strives to build well-rounded leaders who will be prepared to meet and serve the needs of the parish, school, faith community, and all of God's people.
The School Board serves as a voice to the community of SJBCS through the common calling of God to this mission. With everyone's support, the SJBCS Board seeks to bring the school and its community forth in fruition into this new millennium.
